The new first chapter is much better, IMHO; because now we get more information what is going on and you have us right within the story. Thank you for meking clear that there was indeed an alliance between Elrond and Celeborn. Still, I'd be most interested to lear about what the pact was all about (that is, what did the bet about, how did Thranduil win, why did they played such a game in the first placew) in some later chapter.
As for Haldir and Rumil, I wonder how they will feel about their adoptred father when they learn that they have been traded off as slaves? Makes 'Adar's' favor the years before certainly looks quite different...
Greetings to you! Update soon!

Um, I am missing a little background here. Why would the three Elf-lords agree on such a pact? Why would Elrond and Thranduil agree to it when Celeborn has not even blood-kin to offer? That would put Thranduil at a great disadvantage. After all, Elrond's sons are Celeborn's grandchildren, so the only one who is really risking blood-kin here is Thranduil, given the twins go to Lothlorien, since Celeborn will probably treat his own grandsons well.
What would be the gains of such a pact in the first place? Or the losses if one of them did not agree to the whole thing? I hope you give us a bit more information in a future chapter; right now I find it hard to believe that Thraduil, under the circumstances, would agree to such a pact without dire need (although I do get the impression there is some kind of alliance between Celeborn and Elrond going on against him).
