Hi! Missed you too! ^_^
OK, I admit I skimmed through this chapter first to see what happened and then went back and read it in detail. lol. I think we're finally starting to see the 'other' side of Haldir - the Elf who cares about his friends and family instead of the arrogant and proud Elf of earlier chapters. Hopefully, Legolas will see this too - once things have calmed down!
Also, I liked Celeborn's comforting of Legolas - very sweet moment. :)
Aiiiiiiiiiiiii *please* let Legolas find Rúmil and save him! Honestly, my heart can't take it much longer! (Nor can Rúmil's I expect. lol) It'd also be very good for Haldir's opinion of him, I'm sure! (Though I will honestly and seriously beg you not to have any of them raped... major squickage there!)
BTW only one 'glaring error' - when Celeborn says 'I need you here' you didn't start a new paragraph for Haldir's reply. Beta in me shutting up now. ;)
Very much looking forward to more - want to see these men taught a lesson so that all these poor Elves can start on the long road to recovery! It won't be an easy path I'd imagine, poor things! *Sends Orophin a nice hat*

Another great chapter, even with no sex!
I was thinking when the evil men are captured, the elves would cut off their hair, too - but men probably don't value hair as much as elves do. But perhaps if they removed the hair from another part of the men's bodies, with a nice sharp knife, and a few well-intended slips of the blade...Santgalas would step up to the plate, I'm sure!
"Hot yummy sweet Haldir/Legolas/Illiene threesomes, maybe?" Haldir SWEET? Is this a secret side of Haldir you're going to reveal? Sort of James Bond type - tough on the outside, but soooo romantic in bed? OK, OK, I need a fan! Or a Haldir of my very own!
Eagerly awaiting the next chapter, Ertia!

Eeeeek! Orophin lost his beautiful hair! I hope he didn't lose anything else! Will Haldir gallantly cut off some of his hair, to make a wig for Orophin while his hair grows back? I can't picture Orophin in a knit cap, or adopting the Vin Diesel look....
When Orophin improves physically, will Celeborn send Legolas to Orophin for some sexual healing? Please?
And what of Rumil? I shudder to think what the men have done to him!
Is there any of that dwarven ale left? I need something to sooth my nerves while awaiting the next chapter!

Wow! You seem to have gotten some interesting reviews! LOL People are so silly.
Well, I love this story, I love the darker aspects (elsewise I might not love it as much :D ), I love your writing, and I'm so happy to finally see more!!!!! I have complete faith in your storytelling abilities, and while I would LOVE to know what was wrong with Haldir, I know you will get to it when you get to it. I love the suspense! hehehe
Poor Orophin though... I can't wait to see what will happen to him!
(OMG! I just used the word love six times in one review... I think it's a new record!!)

Hello Legolas,
"My alter ego remembers being selfish and that's all, so let's not start a rumor." Ah, the dwarven ale must have muddled your mind.
Ertia says, "He took in the livid marks on Legolas thighs….." Then, after Celeborn leaves, your alter ego mused, "How often at home had he taken Mirie or Ninsewel the same way, to ease his own tensions, with little regard for their satisfaction?" He took the courtesans "the same way" - I took that to mean he had been rough with them and bruised them, just like Celeborn had bruised him. And now that the shoe is on the other foot, I hope he's realizing that some of the liberties he took with coutesans may have gone too far.
I am not assuming facts not in evidence. Your alter ego recalled playing the same game with Celeborn as he had played in the Greenwood. If what he was playing with Celeborn was not BDSM, what was it? Again, I believe he palyed the game with others in the Greenwood. Does Ertia have to provide a complete listing of all his conquests to make you happy? To me, such a laundry list would be boring.
Of course, these are my thoughts on the matter - I'm sure everyone reads the story a bit differently! That's why stories and books are so much better than movies!
I hope you find it someday, Legolas. I agree with Ertia, you are a git. Ertia, please keep things as they are so we can let our imaginations run in any direction we want!

Mae Govannen Miss Nim, and a pleasant good morning to you!
Perhaps it was the dwarven ale, or perhaps it was a misunderstanding of the true aim of the story.
"The same way" is open to a number of interpretations. It could merely have meant in haste. My alter ego's memory could merely have been somewhat altered by the Stockholm Syndrome setting in -- he has the need to blame himself and view Lord Celeborn as justified. The alternative would be too terrifying, for he is completely within Celeborn's control It was also a very convenient recollection, coming so late in the story after we had all been led to believe that this Legolas was the one we know from book and movie -- gentle and kind.
Ah, but thank you. Since my alter ego seems to have fallen under the same evil spell as the rest of the Middle-earth elves in this sad tale, then Mandos take him. He deserves what he gets, and all you sadomasochists can get back to enjoying your Legolas abuse.
My understanding of BDSM is that it requires consent and that there must be the opportunity for the submissive to escape the situation should it become too intense. Of course what my git of an alter ego played with Eferell, Celeborn, and an unspecified number of Mirkwood elves was BDSM. And he didn't seem to mind at all. He didn't even seem to mind the session with Santgalas in the woods, although that became rather intense. So be it.
The issue of consent is clouded by the contract to submit signed by the so-called courtesans. There is no escape until the contract is up. That is the BDSM element that is upsetting. Since Mistress Ertia has emphasized my alter ego's distress and emotional pain at his treatment (the true submissive gets a kick out of being abused and humiliated) I fear she is playing to the sadism crowd.
Since he has now been generally agreed to be a git who deserves all he gets (What about all the others -- Celeborn, Thranduil, Santgalas, etc. ? Will they get their turn in the collar to have their sensitivity raised?) I leave you to your enjoyment of him. And to a story that glorifies any number of pernicious themes. Unlike the usual 'abuse Legolas' story, where the torturers are the villains, Mistress Ertia is encouraging us to like these elves.
You have set me free, Miss Nim, and I shall retire to another venue with a clear heart.
Ever Your Obedient Servant,
Legolas (Not an abuser of Women and still Nobody's Catamite) Thranduilion

Thanks for another wonderful chapter Ertia! Speaking for the sadism crowd, thanks for playing to us! One has to wonder about this new fellow, this Seldayan character; how unfortunate for him that the sight of another elf beaten and broken inspires nausea and unease instead of sympathy or valor. I almost wanted to say, 'Jeez, dude, pull it together and do something useful. Does the pampered life of cortesan serving the entire company of border guards lead to such? I would think he's use to seeing injuries, etc, or other not-so-nice things. Yes, and i will add my voice to the chorus of "poor Orophin!" though truth be known, i rather enjoy hurting him.
Legolas, if you keep going on all those BDSM Safety websites, Celeborn is going to disconnect the DSL line in your talan, then what will you do when not spreading your legs, taking a whooping, or wiping off Missy Thing in the bathes? How many times does he have to tell you, "Those late 20th cent. rules don't apply here, now bend over."?

Whoa, what's with the sporkage? Doesn't 'don't like, don't read' mean *anything* anymore? *Sigh*
Keep writing, m'dear, you have many fans eagerly awaiting more!
(Though you'll have *me* after you if Rúmil and Orophin aren't ok! *Grin*)
