Chapter 30

"{Legolas. So very like his mother: wildly passionate, beautiful to behold, entirely wanton, and completely selfish. Are all in Ningloriel's line so false of heart?}" I think, Elrond, it's time you had a good look in the mirror and decided who is the selfish one! You REALLY are blind to everyone and everything aside from yourself, aren't you!?

I liked the flashback into the past to see how Ningloriel and Elrond first met, it's a nice touch. Thankyou for sharing that precious moment.

Oh, and I LOVED when Erestor and Leggy woke up and acted as two lvoers should; playful, passionate and completely in tune with one another. That is what Leggy deserves every day of his life. Shame he has only to feel it now, and it's so short lived it is hardly fair for one so sweet to know nothing but heartache for the majority of his life. Still, I am hoping for 1. a happy ending for our dear prince, and 2. to find out who the father truly is!

Chapter 30, part 2

Elrond! You BASTARD! How can you do that to Leggy? He has done nothing but wish for comfort and realease, as he deserves, and no doubt, as you hexpeexperienced your whole life! Let him find some measure of happiness, would you!? (don't you just love how my reviews are turning into verbal insults towards Elrond, rather than appreciative statements towards you and your story, dear Narcolinde. Sorry, but I just can't help myself, as he is rather single-minded and needs to be taught a lesson).

Oh, I trapplapplaud Erestor, not only for taking the greatest of care with Leggy to show the elf true pleasure, but also for willing to come clean about all that he has taken part in. I realise when he found out Leggy wanted Elrond to be his true father, he could not go thourhg with it, but just that he wanted el tel the truth is all that matters. But, did he have to be so truthful about Maltahondo!? Poor, sweet little Legsie... I only hope he can reach Fearfaron before anything too bad happens to him.

Luv Mawgy

P.S. Sorry, this may just be me showing how long it has been since I read the earliest of your chapters, but what does Leggy cutting the braid from around his ankle off mean to symbolise? Was it something Malthen gave him? Or Erestor perhaps?

Chapter 32

lastlast one for tonight.

Now, I know this chapter is important, but as with another chapter earlier on, I cannot think of much to comment upon. I'm grateful Gandalf and Aragorn are now there to look after him in his hour of need, but I am not so sure meeting Mithrandir so soon is a good thing for it could only bring Leggy more heartache, and, for a while, that is exactly as it has done. But, still, good thing for a nice, chunky plot, something you can really sink your teeth in to.

Oh, and Leggy's last admition about needing to go home was SO sweet, I only hope he can get there before it is tooo late.

Luv Mawgy.

Chapt2 (o2 (ok, one more before I retire for the night)

YAY! Leggy and Aragorn are friends! How nice!

But, as I said, I did not think it was good for Leggy to meet Gandalf so soon after his attack, because, for a while there, he did get worse befoe sle slowly became better. Yet, knowing this is not the end of Legy's anguish, I still don't think it's good for him. But, seeing as yuo are the boss of this story, I'll let you say it however you wish, I'm just along for the ride. And, so far, it's just wonderfully excellent! Thankyou for shring your thoughts with everyone!

Chapter 33 (hmmm, seems like I may be doing more than just 'one more before I retire')

hehe, I LOVE Leggy and Aragorn's conversation where the man refuses to give up any information about his heritage, yet Leggy is so desperately seeking answers to his questions. It must be so frustrating for our favourite Elf, but it was just hilarious to me! Thanks for that.

Pity the humour was short lived and Leggy was soon struck by another attack. I know I've said this before, but I truly do hope that Leggy makes it back home in time. Though, I'm pretty sure he will for there will be no story without the main character, nor indeed would he be able to go to Mordor in the Fellowship, as you've pointed out already how this story fits in with Tolkien's version of Middle Earth history and stuff.

But, where the hell is Elrond and Erestor? Well, I guess Elrond is still looking after the child, and Erestor has no idea where Leggy has gone and does no wish to leave his lord for long, but that's no excuse. He should at least be trying to do *something.* It is, afterall, practically his fault Leggy is like this, albeit he unkowingly did so.

Chapter 32, part 2

Oh, poor sweet Leggy. he knows the end is near, but with the hope of his friends and those he loves, that he will last long enough to overcome what ails him.

Hehe, I like the part with the foul tasting medicine, reminds me on when I was a child and disgusting cough medicines and whatever was forced down my throat. ONly, I was never allowed to alter the taste. *pouts* Still, I suppose Leggy does deserve something nice as he has been through a lot recently.

Hmmm, if I were Aragorn or Gandalf, I wouldn't like that look in Leggy's eyes that told them herathrather see them dead than in the hands of the nazgul. For some reason, if worst comes to worst, I can see Leggy killing both his friends, then himself, just so the Ringwraiths get none of them. I don't know if this is what you intended Leggy to come accross as, but it's how I am interpreting it, none the less. I just wish it doesn't come to that.

Chapter 34, part 2

What is it with the Male rulers of each Elven Realm? Is it customary for all them to be complete and utter bastards!? How dare Thranduil mock both Lindalcon and his father! Has he no respect for the dead? Good on Lind for giving himood, ood, hard kick and punch! Even if the tables did turn on him soon after, but still, well done for sticking up for both himself and his father.

Still, Lindalcon had the last laugh as Thranduil willingly aded ted to everyine in his court that he would help that which he hoped would. Co. Course, technically, Ningloriel had the last laugh (by the way, GREAT way to end the chapter! I truly LOVE!), !), but that's beside the point. Thranduil got his just desserts, as it should be rightly so. And Leggy shall no longer be alone! Yet, I can't help but wonder if he will accept such help. I realise a part of him will greatly appreciate all that he has been promised, but I think his pride might get in the way somewhat and chose tcompcomplish his task alone, for only thh hih himself and his sacrifices can the other two souls be freed. Just my thoughts, though. Who knows? I could be wrong. *shrugs* I guess I'll find out eventually.

I hope you had a nice two week vacation. You certainly returned with a vengeance as far as your story goes. This was a fantastic chapter.

Thranduil and his machinations. He could teach Machiavelli a thing or two about intrigue. I am glad he is hopelessly in love with Meril because I want him to lose everything when the time comes. Love, his new heir, his old heir, people's respect, all but his throne. I want him to remain king while knowing all around him despise him. Black hearted aren't I? It keeps me happy.

The tirade he enj enjoying while he went to the star room and waited for the carpenter was enlightening. He has a very interesting take on Elrond and his goals. I don't recall Elrond being quite so greedy but I could be wrong. I thought he just wanted to know about the ring. I didn't think he wanted to take over Greenwood. Is this Thranduil's paranoia peeking through? But just because you are paranoid doesn't mean they are not out to get you.

Elrond under the subtle influence of Vilya. Well Elrond was very nasty to Legolas and I would like to see Thranduil's and Elrond's b*tts kicked pretty seriously but I think maybe Thranduil is getting a little nutzoid here. Kind of a stream of consciousness of hate, revenge, ego, and power tripping.

Thranduil is smart enough to know though that Sauron is after something. He just has no clue what. He is so busy trashing greedy Elrond and his lust for power and Galadriel and the kinslaying that he can't see the forest for the trees. Sorry I couldn't help that one. It just popped out. If the carpenter is right Thranduil is a kinslayer also to get his plan into action. What a louse, a wood louse. I am on a roll tonite.

The king also feels plans being made, an unseen hand shifting the board and moves in the game. He probably doesn't like the idea of being out of control He has planned things and now he is uneasy because someone else may have been making plans also.

I really liked the description of the room. You do description really good. The forest, this room, people's motives. Good stuff. The idea that the Greewood as a living witness of all that had befallen the Silvan elves was great. Orome the only one with a face because he was the one that cares for things of the wood.

I thought Thranduil was a real knucklehead when he started ranting about religious matters being used to elevate Legolas. I loved the statement on a plot involving Legolas. My first thought was PWP, plot what plot. Tonite I am being really bad.

Now the real payoff of the chapter. If he had paid attention to the Silvan's he so despises he could have had many heirs from other women. He would not have had to put up with Ninglorien. She refused him more children and that would have broken his bond with her in his people's eyes. What a laugh. And Legolas is a true wood elf. Does this mean that Ninglorien played the king false? I think it would haven ien in her best interests to make sure thegolegolas was indeed the king's son by blood not just law. Of course the carpenter wouldn't give the name but he did say there was a way to tell who the father actually was. Very interesting.

Now for the piece de resistance of this little kerfluffle. Thranduil as much as admitted that he set this whole thing up. That no one would be able to prove it. That he was home scot free. We know that this is never going to work out in his favor because murder will out every time. Well in a good tale like this one it will.

So now we have a cat set among the pigeons as far as Thranduil is concerned. This human shows up to let everyone know that some Noldo are running around the forest with Legolas. And Aragorn and Mithrandir are hot to confront both Thranduil and Elrond. I for one can't wait.

I hope your two week vacation made you all frisky and wanting to get some serious writing time in. We just got six more inches of snow so I have lots of time to read. I will be waiting with bated breath. giggle

Wow! I'm continually amazed and delighted by your imagination and by your command of the English language. Your lovely description of the Council Chamber was captivating. I could picture its majesty and longed to see it in reality. I still hope for a happy ending amidst all this wicked plotting but how you'll get there ....? Thank you for your lengthy and intricate story. Please continue and Happy New Year!
