Ai ! Valar ! This is pure torture... to stop there ! You are the most amazing writer I've ever read. Truly, I love your work so much better than the original one. I have just stumbled upon your story last Thursday and read it all at once, I couldn't stop !!! Everything is there : the precise, beautiful descriptions, the twisted, convoluted plot, the raw emotions... I have no word strong enough to praise you.
Not only that but the way you write in itself is superb. I have rarely found such a beauty in a text written in English, be it a fanfiction or even a published book. Your words flow like music. And I am sure I don't even appreciate it to its full extent for I am not a native speaker and can't even begin to do your work justice with the simple words of this review.
I beg you to update as soon as you can, I can't even bring myself to try and imagine the next chapter for I know the image would be pallid in comparison to your extraordinary skill. Yet I know how hard it is to keep updating so I'll just be patient and re-read those chapter again and again until you post the next one.

This has got to be one of the best Legolas stories I've ever read! It's epic in telling and scope, you use incredible vocabulary (but fitting!), it has hot and steamy sex, and though a good deal of the story is very dark, there is undeniable hope as well. Even though your story is mostly serious, I really appreciate the funny moments you throw in there as well to lighten the mood. I especially enjoyed Elrond's OOC moments (via discovery from Glorfindel), since the Lord of Imladris does deserve to be taken down a notch or two every once in a while. I can't quite forgive Elrond for what he did to Legolas, but it does inspire me to read on and see what happens between them eventually.

This story is just amazing in the amount of detail and constructed history, despite its AU nature. I have not finished it yet. I only started to read it yesterday, but it's really sucked me in. And did I forget to mention--the sex is really hot!

I tend to agree with lauriel; the Wood Elves do not show themselves to be very noble in this story, but without some villains it would be boring,at least to me. Still, I do wonder if you plan to try and make Thranduil see the light and accept Legolas. Also, wondering how far you will go to punish Elrond. Anciously waiting!

I think Thranduil must deposed like Elond. I really loved him, but your Thranduil is unrelievable, he has no heart.
Even Elond regretted and admitted his crime though just one time, but Thranduil...He knew that Legolas is innocent, but he show no regret and sorrow and remose, Cus he has not a capability to do. I'm moved when he give the ring Legolas, but next time, he is willingly to kill Legolas for Taurant ( God, if the baby needs that salvation,he must be Damian of Omen...Ha!) How did Celeborn express that horrible story just 'complex'? Only the king is just his kinsman, not Legolas? He never try to save Legolas, and then he's so generous to Thranduil, even after revealed his crime to his own brothers. Just some talking, that's all. He still support the king. Celeborn's kinsman is only Thranduil? I felt sick to him like the king.
All of the alive sindar of this fic has no dignity except Legolas. I feel so sorrow...cuz I prefer them than Noldor. To me they has real pure heart than superior Noldor.
Your sindar lack capability of apologize and amend. Thranduil never be able to love Legolas. Thranduil and coward Talagan two friend committed same crime like Malthen and Rochendil...Talagan just told Thranduil, he refused it, he also droped it, and he aimed sword to Legolas, such a captain! And they're more dutiful place than them....but they'll never be purnished.
You can not punish Elond alone, Thranduil must be purnished together. he have knew all of that, but he stii blamed Legolas before all of the kingdom for Taurant and his pride, he paied no attention of Legolas' agony. Even in the basement, he admiited his shortage pardon for Taurant and after Celeborn's horrible testomony...the king want more savation from Legolas! After all of that! (God, the ancient elf saying that story seemed so calm...he also has no ability to judge fairiy) He has no ability to love Legolas, and now I don't want it, I have no more hope for him. He's elven Grima warmtongue.
How could Taurant grown up well under the parents? Thranduil and Meril's so dity and horrible love (for our own chidren, sacrifice the other one...so dirty!) itself is already Taurant's doom. The Orcs will not be purnished in public, Taurant must get out of their orcish ways like Legolas. Not if, no matter Legolas try him to lead eldar's way, no success. He will be simmilar to Thranduil and Meril. Orc King of elven Kingdom should be no more exist.

Well I thought the story was doomed but am glad these new chapters are here. I liked how Lindalcon was growing up through the tale but now it seems it is too much. I can't imagine how he will survive sending his Naneth to her punishment, just though it is. Seems like to punish her more innocents have to suffer.

that sucks. lindalcon was too easy on her. hope the council makes her suffer. what kind of punishment would her crimes merit? can't see them using execution or anything like that, and keeping her locked up amounts to the sme for an elf. so, is she going to die? what happens to the baby then? and when are we going to see that new Bench in action?

A/N You know when we read or watch something we are actually interacting with the characters. We can gain a lot of insight into our lives and the lives of others and perhaps find some measure of hope or understanding of our own lives, or the lives of those who impinge on our lives. But also we might find the reading or viewing to become a little too much sometimes. Too much angst, pain, to close to the bone for us. It must be even worse for the writer because s/he has to plan, nurture, cogitate and then give birth to the flights of fancy others will read/view. If this is difficult for you then kudos to you for visiting a place and time that we enjoy even if it doesn't give you unalloyed joy.
Chapter 109
The poor twins. Not only nana's death, orc elimination and the long defeat to worry about now they have atta acting like a git and running amok. I have always wondered what elves would really feel like in the situation that the twins find themselves in. They are actively seeking out orcs to destroy not just doing the odd job when they in the course of their lives run across the nasties. I wonder if they would get sick of the death, destruction; the smell of battle and of orc blood; the sound of dying and then the silence when battle is done? Well we are only Edain and can imagine but never know. I did like their mantra. That was very good.
I see Elrond is back to his old arrogant bitchy self. It is his guilt that keeps him forever one step away from ability to treat this with the appropriate sense of alarm. Pride is at the base of all his machinations. A good point you bring out is his lack of regard for his son's pain while he is out haring around trying to punish someone. Why would a mighty elf Lord want to even pull these kinds of stunts? There has to be a screw loose somewhere. The way he "sees" that he is no longer the leader in the way the warriors subtly set up the fringe to protect the twins. Better a leader who is aware and congnizant of more than himself.
I also liked the twins deferring to him out of love not because of his inherent power, Vilya not withstanding. Will Elrond become the Lore Master we know in LOTR? The one who can think long term about Arda's future not just his own desires? I am sure you will let him.
Nice big hissy fit about Callon. Now that he is dead Elrond has lost a valuable weapon. He seems to think of elves as how they can be used. Not his family I hope but all else. Was that his first mistake or just one in a long line? No weapons now of self defense. I am glad the twins are not on the same page as he is. They view the damage done by kinslaying but the others are right. If an orc is eating me you can kill me with alacricity.
I like the twins being at loggerheads with Elrond. They still have their honour and I want Elrond to lose it all. Honor, respect, the unalloyed love of his family, they will love him but not as unconditionally after this. I want all this so that he has to work hard to get it back. I want him diminished so that he will learn valuable lessons that will influence him for the good. I want him to regain most but not all of what he has lost. In his own eyes I want him to realize the good will, love, respect, honour he threw away for nothing in the end.
I do wonder if the Valar had anything to do with Callon's death. He was certainly eager to testify against Legolas and publically besmirch his name for one so reformed. And for what? The opportunity to gain a little in Imladris. He must not have really realized how the wind sat in Elrond's corner to throw all his weight behind a Lord that was in dire straights and likely to lose this little set-to. In the end he did deserve death, even if it was a horrible one. He can stay in the Hall's of Waiting and cleanse himself before he returns to Aman and has to interact with elves once again.
As far as the King not accepting his son and desiring a reason to publicly humiliate Legolas. Well the tide has certainly turned for that and Elrond hasn't sailed. He will find a very different tone now from the Woodland Realm. Won't Elrond be surprised? Now that the King recognizes Legolas as his son things will be very different. He might want to use all the information he has to expose Elrond as the despoiler of his son from his very birth, Elrond used every means at his disposal to ruin the realm from seducing the queen to besmirching his son and heir at so young an age. I can just see Elrond's reaction to that. All that he has done being exposed to the select Council and not able to lie or talk his way out of that one. Wow. That would be good. Thranduil could use this as a way to assuage his own guilt over his treatment of Legolas and ease it onto Elrond leaving him agape. Elrond caught in the web of deceit he wove. Talk about poetic justice. Could Elrond deny the truth? Not possible with the elves that he is going to be dealing with.
So it is all public now among the little group and really although Elrond is upset and dismayed he is the one who has been repeatedly digging his own pit after all. After one has finally told the secrets that are burdening one, one feels so much better. Much as Elrond felt until he walked into that little meeting. See how nicely I distanced that from myself. As if I never had to do that type of thing. And if you believe that I have some great land on the Gulf Coast that is now dry twice a day I would like to sell you. Elrond is letting down everyone who has ever had regard for him, loved him, respected him, looked for leadership and guidance from him, depended on him in any way. Power corrupts and absolute power (Vilya) corrupts absolutely. Wallowing in self pity and self deceit only proves it. This is getting very Shakespearean here. The fall of a powerful and gifted leader to the absolute basest, bereft forlorn elf. I love it. A real slap in the face for someone so arrogant.
Now how did he betray Ningloriel? Was it by condemning her son by claiming him as his own? Thus destroying any chance of happiness for Legolas? Or was it by physically despoiling him and treating him as an object to be used, abused and discarded? Or by both perhaps?
More Shakespeare now. The Dark Lord could not oust him but his sons did. If he weren't wallowing here he could see that he is the one who let go the reins of power himself while he was out cavorting around and trying to continue his crafty undermining of the Woodland Realm. He really did you know.
Elrond is lost and alone. Like the song about Gollum. Now we need the meeting where Thranduil can get his own back and revel in it then he can in turn get levelled by his past. Payback is a bitch.
