I'm not too sure how often I'm going to have to say this before the message sinks in.
HALDIR WAS NOT THE MARCH WARDEN!!
Unless I'm very mistaken, Lorien had more than one person protecting its borders. If you want to make the distinction between rank, then say 'captain of the march-wardens'. A march is a border and a warden is a person who protects that border.
Sorry is I offended you, I'm well aware reviewiers on this site tend to be smug, back-slappy peeps; good for the ego, but ultimately useless.

AH! You've done it again! Beautiful! Tasty!
I liked the brutality of the beginning, the lessons learned, and the way that turned to understanding and respect. Well done! Very very well done.
The only thing wrong is that there wasn't enough! But then, I'm a greedy Elfling and will take anything I can get! :D

That was so moving! I very much liked the ending where they both realized their destinys.
