I've another question.

So, Aragorn is the main master while Boromir and Gimli is like assistant or substitute. So, how long can they prolong Legolas's life before he need Aragorn's essence again? Can B & G prolong Legolas's life as long as they want without Aragorn's essence? Say, if Aragorn die in battle, can Legolas not go back to Rivendell at all but continue to survive off the substitute master's essence?

I hate to nitpick (well, actually, I *love* to nitpick), but on a second reading, I do have a question.

Why would Aragorn be dragging along either of the harbal spell components on this quest? He would never use an aphrodisiac, and it seems like he also wasn't planning on extending the spell. (Or was he? And if so, with whom, and when? He certainly seemed unhappy enough with Boromir about it.)

If these were just generic herbs combined in a special way, I suppose I would understand; Aragorn would be dragging them along anyway, for healing purposes. But the herbs seemed to be awfully specific, especially the poison one. Why carry around the extra weight if you don't need it?

And....wow.

First of all, I was pleased that the extension of the spell was, indeed, logically done. Kudos there.

I was amazed at the bit about how Aragorn would be bound to desire Legolas' fear, pain, submission, and so on. That was a *very* logical explanation for Aragorn's sadism - and you got to blame it on Elrond, too! More kudos for explaining OOC Aragorn. (Of course, it looks like things are going to be even worse from here on in, in that regard. What in Middle Earth was Aragorn *thinking* of?! How can he possibly justify that?! *wants to swat him*)

You surprised me a bit with Boromir, and even more so with Gimli. Your gang-rape warning sounded very dire, but neither of them fell on Legolas like a ravening Warg. I was especially worried about Gimli (because he had been so outright *nasty*) and was imagining all sorts of hideous things, so I am rather bemused that it all went rather differently than I expected.

Finally, before the chapter was posted, I was thinking about how Legolas should logically respond - both before and after the ordeal. I have to say that I think that you hit it right on. Shame and humiliation beforehand, despairing heartbroken weeping afterward. It really should not (and did not) matter that he was already sexually enslaved and abused for 80 years - to have to go through it all over again, for an adan who thought of him only as a toy, and a dwarf who (or so he perceived) only wanted to hurt and humilate him, really would have been Just Too Much.

And it was gratifying that Aragorn was tender with him about it.

Thinking... thinking now. Okay. Well done! That cannot have been an easy scene to write! You're right. I am surprised at Gimli, bless his gnobbly Dwarven heart! His last words to Legolas... dang near broke my heart! And Boromir, finally figuring it all out. Good for him.
But I'm gonna kick Aragorn's ass! That boy needs a good beating!

Hi, I've a few questions I want to ask regarding the story.

1) U said in the previous chapter that there are 4 people in Rivendell than can save Legolas if Aragorn happened to die in battle. Who are the 4 people. I know Elrond and Glorfindel are 2 of them. Who are the other 2? I seem to get the impression from the chapters near the beginning that Erestor and the Twins also have the ability to relieve Legolas's suffering, but this will be 5 people already.

2) What is the status/bond of these 4 people to Legolas? Are their bond/status the same type as Boromir, Gimli, Halbarad and Onogdir, the extended connection? If it's different from the bonds of B, G, H and O, what is the difference between their bond with Legolas and Aragorn's bond with Legolas?

3) Is the extended bond temporary or permenant? Can Aragorn remove the bond later? Does Halbarad and Onogdir still have the power to relieve Legolas's suffering and extend his life?

Comment:

The earlier chapters move a bit too slow for me, but the pace pick up in the later chapters. I think your story is very well thought out. Unlike some other similar type fanfic who give some lame, illogical reason on why Legolas is being abused, u actually make the efford to create a believable backstory with great attention to details. The only other victim-legolas fanfic I've read that did this is Feud.

The part I like the most in this particular chapter is Gimli's development. I like his compassion towards Legolas and his promise to Legolas that he won't take him again unless it's really necessary or Legolas truly wants it. I hope Legolas end up with Gimli, become friends and lovers and go travelling together like in the book (of course, in the book, they are only friends :p).

Poor Legolas. I wouldn't particularly like the idea of Gimli lording over me, either. But I can see a gentler side to your Boromir. I think he'll be at least a bit considerate. Ooooooooh! Can't wait!

Wow, its very interesting. Keep up the good work - it's stories like this that one really wants to know the end but never wants to run out of story to read - does that make sense or is it just me?

I cannot believe Aragorn is giving in like that to Boromir; that's awful! I feel so bad for Legolas!!
Wonderfully written scene between the Fellowship and Aragorn. Mithrandir isn't letting him off the
hook, which is nice to see. I can't wait to see what happens next!!
