Marvellous, breathtaking, and truly horrible! The very dark ending is a surprise and a nice touch, although it holds bleak despair for the poor Elf. And the roller-coaster of emotions and of hope before, hope kindled, then thwarted again - marvelously done! Poor Melporaemen! Great fic again! Thank you for this little masterpiece!
