Oh how sad! *sniffles*

I would like to see you post this story on one of the general LOTR fanfiction sites, such as Stories of Arda, and maybe explore the idea further, beyond this single chapter. The idea that the marriage of Celebrian and Elrond was a political arrangement, and that she felt obliged to leave a relationship with someone else in order to marry Elrond, is intriguing. I don't know of any fanfiction authors who have explored this idea before. I have seen stories with much the same theme regarding Denethor and his wife (whose name escapes me at the moment) and regarding Eomer and Lothiriel, but never Elrond and Celebrian. Yet the idea that their marriage was primarily political certainly is a realistic possibility, and I think that it's a concept that would be of interest to many LOTR fans who do not visit adult sites.

This was a very well done story; for some reason I thought the "left-behind" elf was Haldir. I always enjoy your stories, and this one was no exception!
