Maedhros doesn't have fun here. Great story about one of Tolkien's best characters. We all knew that being hold captive by Morgoth Isn't fun, did we? and Tolkiens always so vague on what being held captive by Morgoth really means.... but we always guessed that it was something like that now, didn't we? Iloved it.

I have never read a fic before so haunting. What an amazing work you've created here. Stunning characterizations giving insight to the players of one of the most tragic tales of the Silmarillion. You should be extremely proud of what you've done with this. This is very difficult to read because of the extremely graphic element but not a single word of it is gratuitous as is so often the case with fill-in first age fics. I'm so glad you didn't end it before it beautifully, eloquently and heartbreakingly ended itself. Wow. I feel like I should say more but I am at an utter loss.

An incredible piece of work. I have read one, maybe two darkfics and found them to be horrid - too horrid to make it through. This was most certainly 'horrid' but so well done I couldn't stop reading. A lot of rapefic/torturefic is done OCC for all characters, and after spending 20 years studying Tolkien, I just cant mudilate them like that. But it stayed along the lines of canon perfectly. I applaud you for this wonderful piece of fiction! -BB

This is the most breathtaking, captivating and amazing thing that I have *EVER* read.
Brilliance. Sheer, untainted brilliance.

I'm not all that good at expressing myself, and reviews generally have me sounding like a goof. :p So I'll just say that I felt completely and utterly wrecked after reading this, and that I think it was very well done. 5 stars.

Intensely disturbing. I couldn't stop reading. Vivid characterizations, and the relationship between Maedhros and Fingon-- one that's been done a dozen times over-- is newly meaningful and touching. Brilliant writing.

Amazing.
Maedhros/Fingon are my favourite pairing.
I don’t think I’ve ever cried reading a fic before.
Very good work!

*Hoof.* I've read rapefic before, and I agree with you that this is above and beyond the inane graphicness of that sort of thing. You had me near tears for Maedhros - he's not even my favourite of the Feanorians, but this episode is one of the most moving and terrible of the Silmarillion, IMO, and you did an aweful (note spelling!) justice to it. Excellent job.
