Poor Erestor...He is finally happy and bound to the most handsome Elf in all of Arda, and he can't make love to his mate on their bonding night. I hope that after Erestor talks with Haldir that the silver-haired Elf makes Erestor see some reason. Excellent work! Please continue.

I knew it! I knew it I knew it I knew it I knew it!!!!!! Ha ha!!!! Just like what I hypothezied in a review way back when for who-knows-what chapter, I knew it! I knew it had to be either Legolas or Thranduil that was the father to Erestor's baby and that this whole thing was some kind of horribly out of control case of mistaken identity!!! Aha! I knew it!! *does stupid little dance in a circle*
Oh boy! Wow, what a chapter! It felt like everything happened at once! I mean, just, everything! ha ha! Aw man, that was the chapter I was waiting for, seriously. I can't tell you how happy I am that Erestor's finally been proven right.
Aw boy! So what happens now!? I am so excited to read how this all now progresses now that the truth is finally known about Erestor's rape. Yes, rape. Ha! Take that, Elrond, you stupid self-serving, pig headed, sorry excuse for an elven lord, HA!!! I want to see how he's going to cover himself now. Looks like the big bad Lore Master Peredhel isn't the all knowing ass he thought he was, now is he? Grrr.... Oh, I want to see groveling apologies from him. Actually, I want to see grovelling apologies from everyone!
So now Elrond knows Erestor didn't lie. Oh! Before I forget, that one line that went something along the lines of "he lied... intentionally or not, he lied..." That's kind of a self-eliminating sentence. One of the major characteristics of lying in the knowledge that what is being said is not the truth. What I think you meant to say was "hs wrs wrong" or "he was mistaken. Thranduil never touched him..." You can't lie and not intentionally mean it as the none truth. Does that make sense? But I think you kind of caught yourself later when you said "But i know now how you might have made the mistake..It wIt was just something that stood out to me while reading. Though it's not all that important, I would probably suggest fixing it.
Anyway, so yeah, what's Elrond going to do now? I think Erestor deserves a MAJOR apology from him. It seems though that Elrond knows he was wrong and has now unspokenly shifted his alliances over to Erestor's side since he's just demanded punishment for Legolas' crime agaihis his councillor and bhed hed him from all of Imladris. I just hope he now feels like the ass he is and apologies proffusely to Erestor and restores him to his former place in the household. I hope he feels especially terrible now that he's actually SEEN what happened to Erestor and knows that it was becaus him him an innocent elf almost faded from grief, tried to kill himself, and had his rapist almost get away with such a heinous crime. Gee, I thought the Lord of a land was suppose to protect his subjects... Looks like Elrond just proved that he miserably failed in that.
I can only wonder what Erestor's going to do now. He's going to have to finally face what's happened to him. I can tell he's going to have a lot of emotional baggage to deal with after this whole mess. I wouldn't be surprised if he never fully trusted anyone ever again. Glorfindel, I feel, still needs to truly reearn Erestor's trust along with everyone else... Don't forget that old addage: "Trust is something that can be broken in an instant, but what takes an eternity to repair" Somehow I feel this is what would most likely apply to Erestor in this case. As sad as that sounds, I simply cannot see him truly trusting anyone ever again after what's happened to him, or if he does it will take a very long time for him to learn to trust again. I mean, everybody, and I mean just about everybody!, he's ever loved or cared about td thd their backs on him when he was in the most need of their help. That's not something that a person just so easily gets over or forgets. Glorfindel better know he's in for the long haul to earn our fallen councillor's trust again. I think after this meeting, Erestor's going to need a strong shoulder to cry on and a of lot of time to come to grips with what he's been forced to relive when Elrond merged with Erestor's memories. Perhaps Glorfindel can start to regain a little bit of Erestor's trust by being such a person to him to help him deal with what's enedened to him and help him deccide how he's going to go on in the wake of such a traumatic experience.
I wonder how Elladan and Elrohir are going to deal with this too. I mean, how's Elrohir going to deal with him being the kind-of-but-not-really lover of an elf that could have been his potential rapist? They seem to be yet another case of impending groveling apologies for how they treated Erestor since their return to Imladris from Mirkwood. Don't forget there was a lot of physical abuse on their part on a poor innocent raped elf. The same one, mind you, Elr Elrohir said that he loved... I kind of think that also needs to be redressed so that Elrohir knows Erestor never heard his confession or knew that he had such feelings for him.
The only thing that got me was Thrandund Lnd Legolas. I mean, Thranduil knew Legolas raped Erestor yet when Legolas finally confessed to doing so, he acted so surprised and striped Legolas of his title as Prince of Mirkwood... Emm... that seemed kind of, I don't know... I mean, he was ready to take the blame for the rape and confess to it when he knew it wasn't him, but then so suddenly comes to Erestor's defense in this whole thing. And Legolas... I mean, throughout the entire story he abused Erestor and accused him of lying about his father raping him as though he had no knowledge of what actually happened... It seemed kind of iffy to me... Did he know all along he was the father of Erestor's baby? Or did he not remember it because he was drunk at the time and only really remembered when Erestor began to recount what happened that night? And what about Virisse? I mean, she hired someone to poison Eretor and act as his lover. Surely she also deserves some kind of punishment for her actions. And Thranduil too. He might have come to Erestor's defense now, but he still hid the truth and tried to take the blame for his son raping someone... Somehow every one of Thranduil's family is guilty of something worthy of punishment. I'm just curious how you plan to deal with this. Surely Elrond won't let this go by unchecked now that he knows Erestor was telling the truth.
I think there's now going to have to be a lot of healing to be done with Erestor. A lot of time to repair his broken trust of others and a lot of apologies. I wouldn't really be surprised if Erestor really doesn't believe the sincerity of their apologies at first. Perhaps he will even still think he's going to be banished for whar rer reason. I mean, that's what Elrond's been threatening him with ever since the beginning. And since Elrond's consistentely been a major ass about this whole thing, I wouldn't be surprised if Erestor thought Elrond wasn't moved by finally knowing he had been telling the truth.
Oooo... so many possible plot bunnies here! I can't wait to see what you do! On that note, I thought I might address another review I saw on your review page for this last chapter - the one about your story being so AU. Well, I'd just like to say that I like your story. AU or not. In fact it the total AUiness of the whole story that makes it so enjoyable. You can't predict how the characters are going to react to different things in the story. From Erestor's timidness, to Elrond being a total ass hole, to Legolas almost being the complete opposite to his usual characterization, it keeps the reader wondering what the next twist is going e. e. I mean, I admit right here and now that I am a TOTAL Legolas fangirl. But somehow I enjoy your slightly unorthodox characterizaton of him. In the Mani Marte universe, I love to hate him! I really do! I hope this making sense to you...
Well, in any case, i love this story. Hurry with more soon. I can't wait to see what happens next with Erestor and how he and the others all deal with the real truth. Hurry hurry hurry! 'til then!
