NOOOOOOO! Not a kinslayer! Congratulations! I do believe that is something that Erestor has not been yet...at least, not to my knowledge. I like your story and I adore young Elrohir and Elladan. Please, find it in yourself to finish it.

Well, that's a twist. Never considered Erestor as a kinslayer. That explains a few things about Erestor, and now I feel badly for him. Glorfindel has a long road ahead of him, I think. I absolutely adored Elladan though, and I found his obvious shining respect and love for Erestor quite a nice touch. I can't wait to see more interaction between Glorfindel and Erestor. Thanks so much for writing, I'm really enjoying your story.

Erestor a kinslayer. Well no wonder he is so distant. He can't forgive himself. That was a terrible thing to get caught up in. That was as bad as being a human. Well I know that Glorfindel will eventually help him get over the pain.
Being an elf would be good to a certain extent. You can walk on snow, creep around and only other elveuld uld hear you, be super strong, agile, lithe, great reaction times. But the other side of the coin is you live forever and never forget, friends, past mistakes and loss. You have to decide if the balance is acceptable to you. If not you have to head off to the Undying Lands hoping to get peace there. And if you are a kinslayer that way may be closed to you if you haven't been forgiven.
Glrofindel is dealing with his own memory problems. I also would probably chose to remember. I think memories make us who we are. If Glorfindel had chosen to forget he would be a very different elf than Glorfindel of Gondolin.
I hope you can figure out an outline to keep you on track with this story. I really like it. It is well written, has a different take on elves I enjoy reading about and great descriptions. So many of the stories I start to read end up unfinished and I do so want more of them. Keep up the good work. I know it must be hard. This is something I would never attempt myself. giggle

WOW, keep on writing, please! I love this cold and enigmatic Erestor, and would love to read how Glorfindel is going to try to reach him and make him react. Like the bit about Elladan babling about Erestor, providing Glorfindel another piece to fit in an interesting puzzle. More, please!!

*claps her hands with delight* I like your Glorfindel! Morning baths in Mandos' Halls, what a thought *giggles*.
I'm glad you found a beta 'cause though I would have liked to do it also (how can you resist if you really get hooked up to the story), but I already have too many other commitments.
Well, I'm really looking forward to the next part, so don't tarry!

An intriguing introduction, clear and interesting characterizations, evocative descriptions and an engaging plot--please don't let this story end up unfinished (as you hinted in your header). Well-written tales are a rarity and therefore a joy and blessing to read. I think this is a real gem and hope you continue it to its conclusion. By the way, I think that using Glorfindel's thoughts as a means of furthering your story was very effective. That's one great thing about the written word. Storytelling isn't limited by the medium as it is, say, with a movie. In all, this promises to be well worth anyone's time. Do keep it up.

this story looks like it'll be really good!
Although, personally, I have a hard time picturing Erestor as that... cold. So I hope he gets nicer throughout the story!

I love the thought of Glorfindel trying to get Mandos to put in plumbing so that everyone could soak in hot tubs.
OOH! Poor elfling Elladan. He was even willing to lie for Glorfindel. No good really because I'm sure Erestor would take care that Elrond is kept up to date on all happenings.
I thought Elladan's stream of conscience prattlings was very sweet. Glorfindel learned more about Erestor in thirty minutes from Elladan than he would have learned from the councilor in ten thousand years. Probably so.
And chocolate. I wouldn't be able to live in middle earth unless they had chocolate. I realize it came from the New World (South America) but I am sure before the ending of the Age of Elves they had it in middle earth. That was probably Sauron's true plot. He wanted to corner the chocolate franchise for all middle earth. He deserved to go down.
Well Glorfindel certainly is taking notice of Erestor so we know where this story is going. Goodie.
Thank you for sharing and I look forward to more. giggle
