Legolas giving away his gifts to other less fortunate childlren sounds so sweet. I think that we (the fans) are the ones who have started this begetting day thing with presents and a big party. Think of how elves would deal with all those presents when they live forever. I can see this for a prince though, especially the one and only prince of a realm.
The two captains eyeing each other is cute.
The prince will never want to give away his bow and arrows. This couldn't have been a finer gift from Adar for our archer to be.
Nice, very nice scene with one captain giving the other the pendant. Getting pretty warm there for both of them.
Even at that young age Legolas is quite the squire asking Naneth for a dance and performing so gracefully.
I loved the image of the two princes under the table watching the grown ups be less than grown up. It will be much more fun to go try out the new bow and arrows.
I can't wait to see what that wine is going to do to Mirkwood's Royal Couple. They might have a night to really remember. Maybe they will have a double begetting day to celebrate in the future.
Very nice scene with the two captains. It was written so they could both remain strong men. I do like that type of m/m scene. I don't always care much for feminizing one of the partners. You might as well write het slash if you don't want two strong capable men together.
From canon we know that there were isolated groups of elves that did not ally themselves with the three most populous and strongest groups. To me I just think of this visiting group as one of the more prosperous.
This is such an interesting story. Thank you for sharing it with us. giggle

Oh parents. They have to kiss and cuddle don't they. Good thing they do or there wouldn't be any elflings around to bnoyenoyed by it.
So we are just getting ready for the party here and have one excited elfling on our hands. I liked how much his parents care for him, adore him really. A little foreshadowing here about the prince as a grown warrior. Very nice.
Well you have promised us a feast of words as well as a fictional feast in the next chapter and I look forward to it. giggle

Yes the ollo berries would have been ruined if anyone had died when the prince had to be rescued.
Now magic. You know Galadriel tells Sam, in the book, that elves don't really do magic. It is just they can do things that Men can't and so Men think of it as magic. Prince I says it was a gift that all elves had long ago but it has to be taught so to us it would be elven magic but to tit wit would just be another lesson to learn and Legolas gets to learn it. That is very cool.
I can't wait to see what you have in store for these two princes. giggle
