Thank you for another enthralling chapter. I've been reading this one since the beginning (on ff.net) and was very happy to see it being continued here. The scene with the nude painting wilarilarious. It is very difficult to argue with four-year-old logic - everything is so black-and-white to them. And you gave us more Legolas-torture! I hope you'll allow his grief to get worse before you reunite him with Glorfindel and/or Elrond. But it sounds like he'll have a mining accident to deal with first....

So soon? You are lovely, and this was lovely. Lots of lovely going around;) I love fac fact that Legolas is feeling physical pain because maybe Thranduil will find out and insist on him seeing his lovers again. It made me anxious every time it happened, and I love when a story creates that kind of anticipation. It's a perfect start to your sequel!

Legolas has taken on a very difficult job for himself. He has my sympathy. An arbitrator, mediator, negotiator or whatever is always caught between a rock and a hard place.
In your AU Oropher's House is short tempered. Many stories I read comment on this. There must be a treatise from a Tolkien scholar on this somewhere to run across it so often. It makes sense considering Oropher's mad charge and Thranduil's little dwarven episode. Legolas has his little hissy in the movie but he is fine in the book.
Speaking of dwarves, naughty dwarves. I am sure there are all kinds of dwarves, just like there are all kinds of men and elves, so whose to say some really greedy Naugrim don't exist. Gimli would never act that way I am sure. Just like Legolas tries to control his Oropherion temper Gimli is a model dwarf.
An elf with a headache. Well that is something you don't hear about too often. It must take a lot to drive an elf that far. Sounds as if all that training and negotiating has taken it's toll on the prince.
He's going to fade if he isn't with his bondmates. I hope he realizes this soon and gets leave to visit them. Better to take care of things while there is time rather than wait until he is in extremis. Of course part of the pleasure of a story like this is angst and lots of elf torture. I have no doubt that the self centered king will need a wake up call before realizing something is amiss, you know like a brick over the head. WE look forward to much angst.
I loved what happened to the painting and then Aradel's explanation to Legolas. He's right. She and he elves should be clothed for elflings. And nanas and adas need private time. The rest of us encourage nekkid elves at every opportunity though and want to peek during those private times. Different rules for different age groups. Works for me.
I got annoyed at the nit picky king. OK the painting might have been very expensive but the warriors being lax and Legolas' sweet horse being bad is a little to much. Sounded as if he just wanted to gripe. As far as moving the dungeons so he can have more room for junque, every housewife has this same problem. Our stuff is usually not the calibre that the kings is but junque is junk no matter what it is and has to be housed.
Sky is a very nice horse. She knows what Legolas needs. Of course what he really needs is for his horse to kidnap him and take him to Imladris. At least the prince got a little private time to rest his mind thanks to his horse.
I thought it was such a big step for Legolas to be able to use the public baths. He was of course with his brother which helped. But he is slowly overcoming his fears. He couldn't have done that without Elrond and Glorfindel. And he acknowldedged that without Glorfindel's help he couldn't have learned to co ntrol his temper so Thranduil has a lot to thank them for.
The prince still won't eat meat and Aradel doesn't want to eat his veggies. I admit I have a hard time with veggies. I just hate them. I can eat them with lots of butter or a cheese sauce but that kind of defeats the purpose of eating them in the first place.
Poor elfling had a bad day all around and now he has a bad dream. Nice that Uncle 'Las is there for him. This is a set up I can tell. Elvay nay not mine but they are getting ready t som some delving of there own. OOOH suspense. I won't tell anyone though.
And so the rough day ends with the prince sharing his bed with an elfling and a dog instead of his bondmates. Sigh.
Thank you for such a nice start. You have set up a few plot bunnies to nibble at us while we wait so we can keep ourselves occupied. I look forward to more. giggle

I quite enjoy this story, and am really glad you are continuing it the way you are.

I have to say,o hoo hope we get a peek at Legolas running into his old pet dragon friend again though. I don't know why, but that stuck with me.

Ohhh....they had to leave poor Leggy all alone....How very, very, very, very, very, very sad. Of course, they’ll rejoin again (quickly) and there won’t be any reason for me to kill you, right ?
Anyway, that was one of my favourite chapter. It just radiates with warmth and love between the three main characters. But…(there’s always some kind of ‘but’), what happened with Hal-dear ? And with him being ‘interested’ in Leggy-lamb.

It is nice to see that Legolas grew up and could take up the job of being an adult. That is what Elrond was supposed to do with him and he did.
Legolas has a very strong sense of self now and realizes he needs to be a Prince of Mirkwood and help out the Royal family with their duties. I am very proud of him.
I look forward to the next in your series to see how he reacts to life in Mirkwood Forest. Being grown up has its price and Legolas, Elrond and Glorfindel are all paying it. At least they are immortal and can look forward to a reunion in the far distant future. giggle
