So it is time for Legolas to go home after his ordeal. He stayed all winter through all the bad weather and now has to leave when the weather is good. No wonder they are sad. They could have so much fun out in the forests. Of course they had long fireside times to sing, play games and make merry and who can chose which is better?
Great a picnic. I love picnics. Ah Gandalf and his far seeing eyes and what will he see?
The Peredhil question comes up and Legolas is not at all happy. It sounds as if Arwen is not very happy either HMMM Trust a wizard to keep you hanging for an answer. But isn't it said about the elves that they will tell you yes and no? There are a few different interpretations of how this Peredhil choice would work out. It is endlessly fascinating.
So too much great food and warm summer afternoon breezes have put our elves to sleep. Well all but one very accomodating elf. He has a beautiful, breathtaking, gorgeous (is that enough, no never) elf on his lap and is taking full advantage of his luck. A very revealing moment for our elves here and Gandalf sees all. So the question: Heart's brother or heart's desire. Does Elrohir even know this question is being bruited about? Does he see or feel his heart longing or is it only obvious to a few others? Is this all going to surprise him one day. Only time will tell.
I liked "Let time tie loose ends if they're fit to be tied." Even if Elrohir doesn't know Gandalf does. giggle

Lovely interlude. I do love Gandalf, he seems so young and so old simultaneously... playfully wise I think best describes him and you have captured him well. I appreciate the way in which you are slowly building the relationship, but I must confess, I keep chanting "kiss him" at Elrohir. ^_^ Of course, all of this anticipation will make it that much sweeter when they do finally realize the depth of their feelings.

That was a sweet, wonderful, little addition to the story. Makes me wonder if Mithrandir is going to help the two over come the trials of Mirkwood's ban on such relationships. It was good to see Legolas being able to relax and enjoy himself again after his mother's death.
Waiting anxiously for the next part!

I've just read through this series till this point and I absolutely love it! I especially love this chapter, where we see Elrohir's affection for Legolas turning into love. *happy sigh* I can't wait for all the angst and romance that must be sure to come!
