Hi Aithlin, I like your story very much; don't know how I missed it before, but I just read the entirety of what you have posted so far, and it is an intriguing tandeendeed! I especially like the mist-Elves who keep appearing to Legolas, and the way the land reacted to the re-activation, as it were, of a fea once thought dead. I look forward to seeing where you go with the story line!
Also, I am praying for your kitty; I have 5 of my own, and would be very unhappy and upset if any of them became ill. I'm only partly neo-Pagan, the other part of me is quite Christian, and has no problem doing magic, raising power, sending healing energy to the cat, or sending clarity of vision to the vet so they will know exactly what to do for little Binks. May he (she?) be completely recovered soon, and home happily purring in your lap as you try to write! :-) Blessings, Jasta

The plot always thickens when you are the one writing the fiction. I must say, this is one of your darkest creation. You are one amazing person Aithilin and never cease to amaze me. I love this fic although it took me awhile to finish reading what you've posted so far. Sorry about your father, we have not been chatting for so long, and I only found out after reading your fiction. I hope you are doing good, talk to me if you need to. I'm always here.
Also, on a happier note, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!! I can't remember the exact date but I know it's this week. I hope you had or will have a great birthday and hope that all your wishes do come true.
As promised, I will not leave a 'update ASAP' note......but will rather say that I've enjoyed what you've written so far and it's amazing to read LOTR character being written in different dimension, although it's in the same place, same time but a different plain. It's like X-Files and Hitchcock all together. Excellent wing ing and I will be here reading when the next update is up.

Nice conversation between Glorfindel and Legolas about missing his family and friends. But aren't they his friends. How disorienting would that be. Also expressing doubts about this little trial thing that is going to happen. Who wouldn't be uneasy about what is going to happen when you go up against Sauron.
So Legolas loves Elrohir. I hope that doesn't cause problems like it did the first time. This will be interesting to see how this works out.
I can't wait to see how Mirkwood has changed and weird things are living there now. I like your story for the weird rather than personal relationships. I know that relationships are what most people tune in for. So I am glad they are on the road to adventure. No matter how messy it gets. giggle
And thanks for the update. It will shut Legolas up for awhile.

Well now we know why Legolas died. A messy, bloody triangle distracted the group long enough to bring him down. Poor AU Legolas. And he was going to finish the trials at 'Lorien and Mirkwood. So we know he is pure at heart even if Haldir and Elrohir are not quite as pure.
I liked idea of trials and books and fellowships again. This is enjoyable.
As far as the stew goes maybe this is a new, rough red wine and time will bring it to fine mellow fruition. OK Enough metaphors. Let's just enjoy the story.
Thank you for the update. We are waiting for a huge winter ice storm so I am ready to read a lot since we can't go anywhere. giggle

I like Aragorn and Arwen in the nursery especially after seeing ROTK. I liked the scene in the forest very much.
So Elladan has this feeling of 'not knowing' and it had heralded the torment of his mother. Not a good sign for all those waiting to hear news of Legolas.
I suppose next we will get some more insight on Legolas' plight in a very AU of middle earth. Can't wait. It is too exciting. giggle

So the forest in the AU is still fighting and the twins in the old AU (whatever I am going to go nuts trying to figure out how to phrase this) think an answer may lie within Fangorn. Lots of frequent flying miles gonna be logged in here. Manwe Airlines, let our eagles fly you, before this mystery is solved.
Of course Leg is is going to make a difference, and very big difference. He will save them from the Shadow. I have so much trust in him. giggle

Wow, so the plot thickens! I can't wait to hear the exact circumstances of the other Legolas' death!
BTW, I have a new yahoo group, dedicated to Elrohir/Legolas fics and I was wondering if you would like to join and post there?

Oh, cool, really cool, but I'd still love to see how this world's Legolas died, especially since you set it up with a very angsty triangle. And, if Elrohir sees Legolas' soul being the same (gh Hgh Haldir doesn't seem to), how does this play with all the characters and their counterparts? Ah, please post more!

Oh both Haldir and Elrohir loved him and that led to his death. That is so sad. Now maybe they can forgive themselves for their folly and join to help Legolas defeat Sauron. That was very interesting.
Now we get the trial to strengthen Legolas for Sauron. He doesn't have to defeat Sauron just be the lovable sidekick again and inspire others to defeat him. This could be very interesting. I look forward to more. giggle

I had the flu and I find I have missed quite a lot while I was sick.
Chapter #6
Holy Cow. I missed a great chapter. You really set up some plot bunnies for the future. I like the golden leaf drifting in the wind.
Poor Haldir. Doesn't get his Legolas back. Well he will get him in the Undying Lands. They aren't all screwed up, are they?
Things are screwed up all the way back to the Smaug incident. Wow. You are really postulating an AU aren't you? Good for you.
This should be a great ride and I can't wait. giggle
